- Dramatic twist & contrapposto of torso
- Missing right may have:
- arm raised a victory crown
- Held an open hand in greeting
- Landing on the prow of the ship
- The boat at the base is a battleship with oarboxes and traces of a ram
- Function
- Meant to stand in or above a fountain cascading water around rocks below (figure head of a boat)
- Probably built to commemorate a naval victory in 190 BCE
